Biodiversity Centre
Design a sustainable and vernacular Biodiversity Centre, Curator House. The centre should compliment the existing architecture, include a multifunctional presentation area, exhibition and display space, casual eating area, and an additional secondary function. The design should maximise natural light and views of the surrounding environment to enhance the visitor experience and foster a connection with nature, even though one is inside. The design should be innovative, and apply both sustainable and vernacular design strategies
Micro-Brewery
Design a microbrewery and restaurant that showcases a South African brand through its interior design, menu, and beer labels. The design should be functional, aesthetically pleasing, and accessible to all. The brewery process should create a unique and engaging experience. The space should be designed to appeal to adults, with a focus on creating a sophisticated and inviting atmosphere.
Office
This Office design project required creating a workspace for an existing building in Rivonia, Sandton. The workspace should be both functional and visually appealing, catering to the needs of both the designers and their clients. The workspace should emphasise well-being by incorporating various wellness-focused design strategies such as comfortable seating and desks, multifunctional office spaces, collaborative working environments that foster creativity and productivity.
Diverse Hills Hotel Destination
Design a luxurious destination hotel that provides an exceptional guest experience. The hotel should feature a 150sqm arrival area, a 600sqm public space, a 200sqm rooftop terrace, 32sqm standard guest rooms, and 64sqm suites. The hotel should seamlessly blend aesthetics, functionality, and local context, offering easy access to local attractions and activities. The goal is to create a memorable stay for every guest.
Vega School Design
As a design team comprising of 2nd and 3rd-year students, the design challenge was to conceptualise certain areas of the new Vega campus. Each space had to reflect Vega’s brand identity, and incorporate the provided colour palette and finishes. The design solution drew from personal experiences from students to create functional, engaging, and impactful environments.
